Agia Paraskevi

Αγία Παρασκευή

Agia Paraskevi of Rome, also known as Paraskevi of Rome, was a Christian martyr born circa 117 AD in Rome. She endured severe persecution during the reigns of Roman emperors Antoninus Pius and Marcus Aurelius, ultimately meeting her demise at the hands of Roman governor Tarasius near Thessaloniki.
Her beheading is commemorated by the Byzantine-Orthodox Church on July 26th, with Saint Paraskevi serving as the patron saint of the blind.
