GEORGE RASOULIS

George Rasoulis grew up in Sises, Crete, and got his start on the cretan lyra at just 7 years old, learning from his mentor Nektarios Klostrakis.
He went on to attend the Rethymno music high school, where he picked up all kinds of traditional string instruments and dove into Byzantine music, music theory, harmony, and composition.
But that’s not all — he’s also a huge Rock and Metal fan, which led him to learn electric guitar, start the metal band Metalaxis, and play at cool events like the Ark Festival and Matala Beach Festival.
These days, he’s writing his own songs with a rock vibe and Greek lyrics, and he also teaches lyra and mandolin.
Oh, and he’s had the chance to work with some seriously big names like Psarantonis, Michalis and Antonis Fragkiadakis, Michalis Stavrakakis (Tatakis), Giorgos Xylouris (Psarogiorgis), Nikos Stratakis, and Pavlina Voulgaraki…
